UPDATE ~ 03/10/09
Keith has been attending Project Walk, in San Diego since November 1, 2008.  He has made great progress, however, the small settlement he received and the very much appreciated donations have been exhausted.  As of April 1, 2009, he will have to postpone any further therapy until he can accumulate additonal funds.  To maintain his current therapy schedule he needs $2800/month.  Please if you or you know of anyone who can contribute  to his foundation we would greatly appreciate your help.  All contributions are tax deductable.

~ Keith's Story ~

In the winter of 2006, Keith joined his church in Ohio on a mission to New Orleans, LA.  Their mission was to help rebuild and clean up after the devastating Hurricane Katrina.  After a couple weeks Keith returned to Ohio.

We had a construction company, when Keith was grewing up and he learned construction first hand.  He's held jobs in roofing, drywall, and remodeling, to help contribute to college expenses.

Keith decided, a short time after returning home from New Orleans, he needed to return to Louisianna, as soon as possible.  There was just too much that needed to be done to help the residents get back on their feet.

In April, 2006, he closed up residency in Ohio, packed up his Ford Explorer with some clothing, tools and some personal items and his new Honda Shadow motorcycle in tow and headed back to Sliddell, LA.  Keith volunteered through the First Baptist Church.  On June 14, 2006, Keith lent his car out to pick up supplies and someone rear ended the person driving and totaled the Explorer.  Fortunately, neither driver were hurt, but this left Keith with no car and him owing about $2K on the loan.

On July 29, 2006, Keith was riding his motorcycle to a job site when a woman pulled out of her driveway right in front of him.  He was traveling the posted speed of 55 mph.  Again we are fortunate, Keith is alive, though, he now is paralysed...Please read more of his journey, post accident, at

The photos on the left are a small snapshot of his journey.  Keith had a little money saved, but his work in Louisiana was mostly volunteer work, so he did not have health insurance.  He was accepted into the intense therapy program at www.ProjectWalk.org, in San Diego, which costs Keith $2400/month, plus another $1500 for living expenses.  He has been able to get by through his 501c3 Non-Profit Foundation contributions, but funds are getting low to the point that he has to cut back on therapy hours, just when he was starting to see some improvement in his leg muscles.

As his parents, we thank you ~
